I'd recommend a utility called Yosemite Cache Cleaner and empty all system, main, and user cache files Make sure all applications such as web browsers/Mail apps, Office and such are quit. You have to remember that 2016 is Beta software and as such as components are added or improved their size may go up.
Sometimes this bring back some valuable space.
One of the things besides stoping all 3rd part extension from loading, is it deletes all Cache files.
